What is an average day like for you on the job?
I’m kind of a personal assistant to everyone. I might help a project manager by pulling together details for a job and typing up contracts as well as invoicing and billing clients. I enjoy helping to plan our different employee events throughout the year. I enjoy helping to plan our different employee events throughout the year.
What kind of employee events do you plan?
Ken and Randy like to do something for the field guys to show appreciation. Once we did breakfast for them, and another time we did a cookout over the summer. Recently we took lunch to our hotel jobsites and served our subcontractors lunch. Our three year without injury safety event is coming up and I will be helping with that.
What do you like most about your work?
I like being involved in the whole company rather than just one area. I’m kind of everywhere: construction, roofing, excavation, billing. It keeps the days exciting.
What is the least favorite part of your work?
It’s kind of lame, but getting the mail in the winter time is the worst. It’s really cold!
How does a good administrative assistant make the whole business run smoothly?
A good administrative assistant helps the business run more smoothly by having a servant heart and being willing to serve anyone in any aspect that’s needed. We get the job done efficiently and quickly.
What is it like to work at Weaver?
It’s like a work family. We enjoy each others company around the lunch table, and we enjoy getting to know about each others families and lives. I like that the priorities are God, family, work. Those are the order of the priorities in my life too.
What makes Weaver different from other places you’ve worked?
How important the employees are to the owners is much different from anywhere else. We’re spoiled. The owners of Weaver truly want the best for each employee and seek to help us achieve our goals at work but also our personal goals in life. They encourage us daily. It’s a great place to work.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
Currently my husband and I are renovating our house. Everyone has lots of advice and knowledge; they are helping me decide on my kitchen flooring right now. Also, we are really involved in our church as directors of the kids program on Wednesday nights. When I have spare time I enjoy reading, scrapbooking and meeting friends for coffee.
Where is the favorite place you’ve traveled?
Hawaii or Cambodia. The people of Cambodia are very warm and welcoming and Hawaii is just beautiful. Our time in Hawaii was a school of biblical studies, where we learned the history of the people and locations in the Bible as well as studying it sentence by sentence. The Cambodia trip was a mission trip to teach Pastors, seminary students and local people the Bible and the history of the Bible. In Cambodia we were around Phnom Penh, the coastal town of Sihanoukville and we went up to Angkor Wat.
